Getting started

User guide

A short tour of the whole-body map, every live subsystem, evidence links, and safety guardrails in Bio Body OS.

Explore the whole-body map

  1. Choose a system.Select a labeled shape on the body or search for a system, organ, cell, or molecule. The panel explains the selected system and keeps its cross-system links visible.
  2. Change depth and time.Move from overview to organ, tissue, cell, or molecule depth, then compare seconds and minutes, hours and days, or months and years.
  3. Use the outline when helpful. The Accessible outline contains the same system, depth, timescale, and connection content in a linear keyboard-friendly view. Direct links such as Endocrine & metabolic reopen the selected system.

Use the subsystem graphs

  1. Choose a pathway and depth.Cardiovascular, digestive, cellular-energy, nervous, respiratory–renal, and immune pages keep one persistent graph while you switch playback pathways or emphasize overview, organ, tissue, cell, or molecule nodes.
  2. Adjust the shared state.Inputs change qualitative graph emphasis. Meal and energy panels remain bidirectionally linked to their master graphs; respiratory–renal and immune graphs add organ-specific context controls with medication overlays.
  3. Open a deep dive.Every dedicated Stage 3–8 topic page turns its full written stage sequence into an animated graph with synchronized transcript, browser speech, manual navigation, and a Full map reset. The original text remains below as the expanded reference.

Explore the systems map

  1. Start with a node.Select any card in the interactive map to open its definition, mechanism, nuance, state-specific effect, and supporting evidence link in the detail panel.
  2. Follow relationships.Solid paths are emphasized in the chosen state. Use the legend in “How to read” to interpret increases, decreases, stable effects, and context-dependent effects.
  3. Jump to a layer.Use the Jump to menu above the map to move between body, cell, tissue, circulation, artery-wall, plaque, and medication layers.

Compare metabolic states

Choose “After a mixed meal,” “Between meals / fasting,” or “Insulin resistance” at the top of the atlas. The map and detail panel update to show the expected direction of change in that context. These are conceptual models, not measurements from your body.

Use Scenario lab carefully

Adjust meal components to see directional changes in glucose pressure, insulin demand, lipid traffic, and satiety support. Optional medication overlays reveal learning-oriented pathway notes and safety information. Dose and schedule selectors do not calculate drug exposure, interactions, or personal outcomes.

Play a guided flow

Select Play flow to follow a narrated sequence through the selected state. Use the arrow controls to move one stage at a time, set a comfortable speed, and toggle browser voice narration. The “Important only” option is a shorter tour; “All details” includes the full sequence.

On each live subsystem page, the master graph stays intact while playback zooms to the active node. Use Reset overview to see the whole graph again. Adjustable inputs change qualitative pathway emphasis. Selecting a medicine exposes dose/intensity and schedule context plus Entire-system and Medication-only playback; these controls do not calculate drug levels, personal benefit, side-effect probability, or a recommended regimen.

Check the evidence

Open “Supporting evidence” from a node, browse the Evidence section for major claims, or use the Source register near the bottom of the atlas. Source links open external material. Treat them as starting points for learning, not a replacement for professional advice tailored to you.

Report an issue

Use Report an issue to flag a correction, accessibility issue, broken link, or evidence concern. Sign in, complete the optional profile setup, choose how you appear with the report, and include a concise description with supporting references where possible.
